About Fair Play Jam
What can game developers do to engage with anti-racism, inclusivity and respect through play? As a storytelling medium of our time, games allow us to reflect on our cultural experiences in interactive, immersive ways. They can also help us explore our own racial biases, structural racism, and pathways towards cultural sensitivity.
Fair Play Jam is a game jam for humans. Whether you’re totally new to game design, a professional developer or even just a fan, there’s a space for you. There are no medium restrictions (analog, digital, single- and multiplayer games are all welcome) - the game you make should simply be the one you want to make in an environment of fun, learning, and fairness*.
Fair Play Jam is happening October 4-6 2024 at the Department of Game Design on Campus Gotland. On day 1, our workshop program is designed to get you inspired on the topic. After that, themes and teams are revealed and you’ll have 46 hours to make your games. During day 2 and 3, the expert trainers will be around to provide feedback and mentorship on your games. On day 3, we finish the jam with voting and a small award ceremony. Check out the full program here and familiarise yourself with our Code of Conduct.
FPJ applications are closed! Happy jamming!
